About Us
Who are Widowed and Bereaved Partners Ireland?
Supporting widowed and bereaved partners throughout Ireland with compassion, advocacy, and community.
Our Mission
We are a group of widowed and bereaved partners who have come together to address the lack of supports in Ireland for those who have found themselves in the same position.
The National Association of Widows (NAWI) was disbanded in October 2023, and there is currently no formal support group in place for those who are widowed or who have lost their partner in Ireland.
Our aim is to improve the circumstances our community faces, advocate for those who are struggling to be heard, and raise awareness of the challenges widowed and bereaved partners experience.

Supporting Each Other
We formed WBPI to create a supportive community, advocate for change, and raise awareness of the unique challenges widowed and bereaved partners face in Ireland.

Compassionate Support
We aim to provide a safe, understanding space where widowed and bereaved partners feel seen, heard, and supported.

Advocacy and Voice
We work to highlight the inequalities experienced after the loss of a spouse or partner and push for meaningful change.

Awareness and Change
We raise awareness of the social, emotional, and practical challenges our community faces across Ireland.
